In the middle east anything can show up in the news and frequently does. There are people over there who could wallpaper their homes with copies of their obituaries. OTOH, sometimes they're true, in which case the top slot at ISIS just opened up and Islamic whackjobs from Africa to Pakistan now have to be prepared to take another oath of undying fealty to whomever replaces Abu Bakr al Baghdad.
High profile jobs like that are not known for longevity even when you aren't being sought by half a dozen different air wings.
